70s flare jean look

I am so excited about the 70's trend right now.  Boho dresses, fringe, wide brim hats, flare jeans - what a fun decade of fashion!

The trick to pulling off this trend - or any flashback fashion look - is to stick to one main piece & keep your accessories modern.  You want to emulate the time period, not look like you're actually from it.

When purchasing this pair of flares, I knew I wanted the extra length so I could wear them with heels/wedges to really elongate my legs, but I struggled trying to figure out exactly how long they should be.

At 5'4, I usually fit perfectly into a 'regular' inseam at around 32 inches.  However, I usually purchase jeans in the 'short' length because I love having my ankles peeking out at the bottom.

I decided to try ordering my usual waist size from American Eagle (my favorite place to shop for jeans) in the 'long' inseam length.  They fit perfectly!  This inseam added between 3-4 inches which works perfectly with my platforms.

Moral of the story - instead of searching the internet for weeks wondering what brand & inseam will fit you, try a brand whose regular inseam you fit into in the 'long' length.  Same fit in the waist with just a few more inches tacked onto the end!
