Don't get me wrong, I love basics but when I have the choice between a classic item and a statement piece, I almost always choose the statement piece; I love that little bit of uniqueness and surprise in a piece of clothing or an accessory. This is true when it comes to tops, shoes, bags, etc.
This white blouse and the burgundy booties that I am wearing today are the perfect examples. Both are classic items with a bit of added flair. I love the over-sized shape of this top and the fun ruffled sleeves, as well as the fringe detail on my booties, not to mention the color!
A white button down and a pair of black booties will always be in style & should definitely be two items that you have in your closet, but I also strongly believe you should have some twists on these items in your closet.
