With a new year, comes new resolutions. Many of those resolutions involve working out more/being healthier/losing weight & the like. This year, I didn't actually include getting in shape as one of my resolutions, but rather to create more healthy habits daily. Today I'm sharing a few ways to up your fitness game without having to set foot in the gym.
1. Eat Breakfast. I have always been a breakfast eater - I can't function in the morning without some food & a cup of juice, but I know SO many people who skip out on breakfast in the mornings. There's a reason they call it the most important meal of the day. Not only does eating breakfast make you feel more energized in the mornings, but it also jump starts your metabolism for the day. Imagine you wake up at 7 am and don't eat your first meal until around noon?? That's 5 hours of your metabolism still in sleep mode!!
2. Drink More Water. One of the habits that I'm trying hardest to build is to drink more water. You're supposed to drink 8-10 glasses a day & I never quite get there, but I'm trying! Water has SO many benefits from keeping your metabolism going to keeping your skin looking bright & healthy. Plus, water fills you up so you're less like to overeat.
3. Take the Stairs. If you have the option to take an escalator or the stairs, always take the steps. Staying active throughout the day is essential to living a healthy lifestyle & if you spend most of your day at a desk like I do, every step counts!
4. Tone Up. Walking is great for cardio but to tone those muscles, you're going to need some type of equipment. Get yourself some resistance bands or some light weights & then find some exercise routines via YouTube. I love using my resistance bands from TKO & have found there are a TON of different exercises that I do with just this one piece. Working out in the comfort of your own home has never been easier!
What healthy habits do you incorporate into your everyday lifestyle?

Michelle Paige
