TANGER FINDS





 Last week, I had the pleasure of attending Tanger Outlets in partnership with People Style Watch.  When they reached out to me about this fun day of shopping, I got super bummed because I was going to be out of town on the actual day of the event, but I was lucky enough to be able to participate one day early (Thanks PSW!!) and headed out to the outlets with one of my best friends! The weather was gorgeous that day & we had our shopping shoes (aka sneakers) on, so we were ready to shop!  Outlet shopping can be slightly overwhelming since all of my favorite stores are in one place & all of those stores have huge SALE signs in the window.  Today I'm sharing a few tips for outlet shopping & sharing some of the great goodies that I picked up during our trip to Tanger Outlets!

THE RED DOOR SPA + MOTHER'S DAY GIFTS

 


A couple of weekend's ago I made my first visit to a Red Door Spa to treat myself to a massage.  Not only was the signature massage itself absolutely AMAZING, but throughout my time at the spa, I was truly treated like a princess.  The entire staff was willing to go above and beyond to make my experience extra special. While there, Red Door was promoting their Mother's Day packages and it got me thinking what a great gift idea a spa day would be for Mother's Day...after all, what mom wouldn't appreciate a day of being pampered??!


The Red Door Spa is a full service luxury spa & salon and it certainly lived up to my expectations.  I was given a cozy robe & slippers upon arrival and taken to the relaxation room where I enjoyed tea & read a magazine until my masseuse came to get me!  During my signature massage, my masseuse included some amazing aromatherapy that helped relax me right away.  I couldn't believe how fast the time flew - before I knew it the massage was over & I was feeling revitalized and super relaxed.

If a massage isn't your (or your mom's) favorite spa treatment, why not surprise her with a relaxing manicure/pedicure or a facial?  The services themselves are fantastic - however  my favorite parts about the Red Door Spa were the extra special touches that you won't find at other spas.  The relaxation room with refreshments; the cozy robes; the feminine decor and the ability to purchase Elizabeth Arden products (super bonus in my book; I left the spa with a hand cream & new lip gloss!)

 I talked recently about how fabulous Tobi dresses are and today I'm here to prove it.  I am in love with the pattern and fit of this pop over dress from Tobi. It is perfect for spring & versatile for so many different occasions - I wore this outfit to work & then added a pair of heels & a leather jacket for a dinner date. 

BACK IN BLACK




Like any New Yorker, I have a thing for the color black. Black is one of those colors that no matter the day, month, season or occasion is always in style.  It's also the color I most often reach for when I'm stumped on what to wear.  The one thing I don't love about the color is it's ability to fade to the background on streets full of rainbow colors & patterns. So I love when my black pieces that have a bit of detail to elevate my overall look.

At this point, I have spoken rather extensively about my fitness outfits & how much I love athleisure looks.  These pieces are not only perfect for exercising, but they are so comfortable and I end up spending a majority of my weekends in these soft, stretchy outfits.  Phat Buddha Wear is one of my favorite yoga wear collections since their pieces easily transition from my workout to the streets. 

SIMPLE WAYS TO TOUGHEN UP FLORAL PRINT




Floral is one of my favorite prints to wear once spring comes around.  After long winters full of heavy fabrics & dark colors, I love shedding some layers & wearing patterns that imitate the blooming flowers around me.  However, since I consider my style to be more 'casual' and 'edgy' than feminine, I love adding edgy touches to my floral prints to make my outfits look a bit tough as opposed to super girly.

 A special Sunday post coming at ya! My blog has been so packed with ideas & posts that I want to share with you that posting Monday-Friday just hasn't been enough!  Let's talk spring/summer hair tonight!   You may have noticed that I have begun growing my hair out again.  By the time I hit the beach this summer, I am hoping to have some long, beachy waves to blow around in the wind (fingers crossed!)  One of the ways I have been coaxing my hair to grow this spring is by taking extra good care of it!   

I have started using Garnier Whole Blends Hydrating Hair Care, to quench, repair and nourish my hair. The line consists of a shampoo, conditioner and hair mask that include coconut water and vanilla milk extracts and love the moisture it has been adding to my hair.  As I'm sure you can guess, it also smells AMAZING.

Another key rule that I've been trying to follow is not subjecting my hair to as many days of heat styling.  These days instead of touching up my hair with a curling iron each morning, I try to add in some days of braided styles or topknots.  The topknot has become a favorite hairstyle of mine since it's SO easy to do & takes about 3 minutes from start to finish.

HOW TO STYLE A SHEER TOP




There are some trends that are just not acceptable for work - sheer tops and tight dresses for example - but pair them together and suddenly you're in the clear...?  Yup - that's right.  Today I'm showing you one way to layer a sheer top to make the trend acceptable for all occasions.


 The high-low hem, sheer panels, and loose fit of this top are so pretty & are perfect for warm weather.  However, when I opened my closet, I thought 'this top is way too special to just be paired with jeans' and started thinking of different ways to style it.  Of course, paired with white jeans & a pair of sandals/white sneakers this top is easy & breezy (FYI - I have already styled it this way as well).

I tried pairing my top over a dress and a lightbulb went off - the sheer panels make the perfect peekaboo for a pattern.  I went to work to find the perfect dress & found this one in the back of my closet.  Because of the tight fit, I rarely wear this dress, but with this top layered over it, it was perfect! The pattern on the dress even matched the apricot color of the top - a match made in fashion heaven!

 If you're stumped on how to wear sheer this spring, take a page out of my book and do the unexpected.  Use your sheer piece as a layering tool.  Don't stick to a basic cami but rather, go for a bold print!  It looks super cool peeking out from a sheer piece & also allows for a ton of creativity and options while styling ;)

No doubt this April has been full of showers, so my rain boots have been getting a lot of usage. I love, love, love my Hunter boots (I also have a yellow pair)! They are so great in the rain & snow to keep my feet warm and dry, plus the fun colors brighten up any gray day!

One of my favorite reasons to work out & one of my main motivators are, of course, the clothing.  I love the excuse for a whole secondary wardrobe of athleisure for exercising and many times also for weekends.  The clothes are just so comfortable & easy to wear.  As with my normal Monday- Friday outfits, I love being able to find great items at bargain prices.  Today's sweatshirt & leggings are both under $100!  Read on for some more under $100 workout wear picks.
