When the weather warms up, wedding season isn't the only thing that gets kicked into high gear. Engagement parties, bridal showers and baby showers are also often planned around this time to take advantage of the nice weather. While these events are often not as dressy as a wedding, they are still great excuses to put on your favorite dress & a great pair of heels.
This dress is actually my sister's and as soon as she got it, she came into my room and was like "I have a dress that you NEED to share on your blog." Boy, was she right! I am in LOVE with the flutter sleeves and watercolor floral print of this dress. My black mesh heels dressed up this piece perfectly and with flat black sandals, it will be the perfect dress for a summer date night.
Attending a shower/engagement party/etc is usually more lenient when it comes to attire. You can get away with more casual styles, prints and even adding the color white into your outfit like I did with this dress. Maxi dresses & floral prints are great for these occasions!
Style Tip: I would however avoid wearing all white - that shade should still be reserved for the bride!!

DeleteSuch a cute dress! It's definitely perfect for a shower - I'm especially loving the neckline. I'm also super jealous you can share clothes with your sister - so fun1

It's like having 2 closets in one house! 3 if you include my moms, which I also steal from sometimes ;)
DeleteThat is a lovely floral dress! How nice of your sister to let you borrow it :)

This dress is gorgeous! I love black floral on a white background. The stark color contrast with the soft print is unexpected and super eye-catching! Just beautiful!

I still agree with you an all-white dresses (or rompers or skirts with tops) - reserved for the bride to be, ONLY. Love this dress. Your sister was right. Fabulous pumps, too.
ReplyDeleteYes - these occasions are more lenient but I would still opt for a color other than white!
