FALLING FOR FALL





Happy Halloween! Hope you all had a great weekend celebrating & dressing up! J & I had some fun costume ideas but we started thinking of everything too late and didn't end up dressed up, so this weekend consisted of adding some orange & black pieces into my everyday fall outfits. 

WHAT TO WEAR WITH OTK BOOTS





Today's post features a few of my favorite fall items.  Number 3, my leopard tote bag. Since it is calf hair, I usually reserve it for colder weather, so I am super excited to add it back into rotation this season. Number 2, this cozy cardigan from Free People. I saw this sweater on another blogger recently and had my eye on it since then, but had trouble finding it in my size and in this blush shade! Shoptiques was actually the site that finally helped me bring this sweater home; it was delivered to me from a boutique all the way in Canada!! Number 1, these Stuart Weitzman OTK boots! They are a huge splurge but I love them more every time I step foot (or leg!) into them.  Read on for some tips on how to style OTK boots & some more budget friendly options if you are in the market for a pair.

GETTING IN THE HALLOWEEN SPIRIT



Happy Halloweek friends! I'm not a big costume person, but this weekend I do plan to get into the Halloween spirit a bit by wearing this skeleton tee, watching Hocus Pocus on repeat, eating lots and lots and lots of candy & maybe convincing J to visit Rise of the Jack-o-lanterns with me!  (We went a few years ago and it was SO cool! NY, NJ, Boston & LA people, I definitely recommend it)

WHAT TO WEAR TO A FALL WEDDING





Today's post is all about what to wear to fall weddings. I feel like I have been seeing SO many FB & Instagram photos of people attending weddings lately...so I thought I would give some insight into some great outfit ideas for attending a wedding during the next few weeks.

EASY WAYS TO SHOW YOUR TEAM SPIRIT





It's the most wonderful time of the year when it comes to sports. The most exciting time in baseball is happening (the World Series), football is in full swing and hockey is back! Of course, if you've followed my blog for a long time, you know that I have a huge soft spot in my heart for the New York Rangers (see more looks here & here).  They are my 'ride or die' team and I actually avoid making plans with my friends on NYR game nights ;) For you sports fans that aren't as die hard about a team as I am, but still like to show your team spirit when attending or watching a game, my look today shows you 2 ways to support your team when you don't own a jersey...

FALL COLOR TRENDS





Today's post is all about must-wear fall colors. As a safe bet, if a leaf changes into one of these shades, you can bet I'll be wearing it during the fall season.   I love colors like mustard, olive green, burgundy, rust and camel. Wearing these shades is a subtle nod to the changing leaves and a great way to work some color into your wardrobe as the weather cools off. 


The most awesome part about this Vera Bradley bag is it includes so many of my favorite fall shades - browns, mustard and reds. This tote paired perfectly with my rust colored sweater (it's lightweight so it's perfect for the transitional weather & it comes in a TON of colors!). I finished this look with a black leather skirt & my new black velvet booties to really let the fall shades in my bag & sweater take center stage.



Style Tip: Adding tights to a mini skirt or short dress also adds coverage.  I was desperate to wear my new velvet booties but knew that a mini skirt with heeled booties could end up looking more nighttime than daytime, if you catch my drift... So I added a sheer pair of Berkshire tights to balance this look. ( I love the back leg stripe on this pair - it adds such an interesting detail.)

NEUTRAL FALL FAVORITES






Lately, I have been LOVING neutral fall shades. (Seriously, if you check out my Instagram for the last couple of weeks, it hasn't been all that colorful) I'm working on adding some fun, bolder shades back into my wardrobe but there's no time like the fall for wearing lots of browns, olives and rust shades. Today's look features the items I have been wearing the most lately and, no surprise, all of them happen to be in the neutral family.

PINK SUEDE PANTS




Today's outfit features one of my favorite pairs of pants for this season.  They are pink, they are suede, they are slightly cropped in length AND they cost me under $50 so basically this is the best pair of pants ever.  Paired with a denim bell sleeve top, this outfit was perfectly boho for fall.

BLUE VELVET





I am super excited about today's outfit because it includes one of my favorite trends for the fall: velvet! 90's styles have been reemerging for a few seasons now, but this is the first season that velvet has really become popular and I could not be more excited.  Even the inexpensive pieces, like this dress (which is under $20 & available in 3 velvet shades!) looks glamorous and luxurious.
