Usually around the same time that I put away my shorts and swimsuits for the summer, I put away my maxi dresses. I tend to think of a maxi dress as a great summer piece to beat the heat on those dog days of summer, but more and more lately, I have been seeing people transition their maxi dresses into the fall season by styling them with layers or finding long sleeved versions. I was so excited to receive this long sleeve, floral maxi dress from Banana Republic and even more excited to try my hand at styling it for the fall season.
I thought about pairing this stunning navy maxi dress with a pair of coordinating heels (something similar to these to be more exact --- next time!) but ultimately decided to pair this dress with my OTK burgundy boots to make it appropriate for the colder temperatures and show you all how a maxi dress can be worn into the fall & winter (holiday party outfit idea anyone?!) When my girlfriend saw this dress, she immediately said, "you need to wear this with a fur vest on top of this dress!" ...another brilliant styling idea for the winter and a great way to add a luxe touch to your outfit.

Tell me, how would you style a maxi dress for the winter?

ReplyDeleteThis dress is stunning Michelle! Sometimes I think maxi dresses with long sleeves can look overwhelming...but your's doesn't at all. Maybe it's the v-neck?
ReplyDeleteThe colors are so pretty!!

I agree - This time I actually ordered a petite size so the dress is a little more fitted and shorter all around than it typically would be. I think that is helpful so that it doesn't look like too much fabric!
DeleteI would have never thought of pairing boots with a maxi dress but it works so well, you look stunning! Have a lovely weekend :)

Just make sure the boots are not too chunky. These have a slimming effect with this dress
