Today I'm focusing on my favorite thing to shop for: shoes! Maybe it's because I can wear them more often (cost per wear!) or because I can always count on them fitting and looking good, but there's  really no type of clothing that I love more than a good shoe.  It's my favorite thing to shop for, receive, and wear!  While so many people focus on getting a new top or a new dress for the holiday season, today I'm taking an alternate route and sharing my favorite statement shoes for the holiday season.



There are tons of shoe styles that are classic for the holidays - pumps, metallic, over the knee boots, etc...and as I mentioned, I am shoe obsessed so my favorite kind of shoe is one that makes an outfit. I love a simple look with a statement shoe any day of the week, but especially come holiday season. It's a great reason to treat yourself to that funky pair you've had your eye on.  

1. Velvet Shoes.  As you can see, I recently got a pair of velvet booties and I can't stop wearing them - I love them tucked into black jeans just as much as I love them with dresses and skirts (see them styled here). I opted to purchase black velvet because of how luxe they looked but how easily they paired with other colors & patterns like this floral print mini dress.

2. Jewel Toned Shoes. If you've followed my blog regularly, than you are most likely aware, that I am obsessed with my burgundy OTK boots (also styled here). I wear them all the time and have already been planning some outfits for the holidays around them. When you wear a jewel toned shoe, you can get away with a simple little black dress!

3. Embellished Shoes. This is inevitably going to be the next shoe or boot that I purchase. I love the idea of an embellished pump or an embroidered bootie. They are fabulous for dressing up a simple outfit for the holidays (again, LBD anyone?). Currently I have my eyes on these & these.
