I'm so mad at myself for taking these photos BEFORE it snowed; I have a feeling they would have looked so much better with a little winter wonderland around me, but then again, the weather is unpredictable and I wanted to make sure I had a post done for today, so you win some, you lose some, & if you are interested in seeing some snow, check out tomorrow's post ;) Rant over.
Today's post is all about winter accessories. When the weather is freezing, as it usually is throughout all of January & February, I wear my black North Face puffer coat everyday. It can get kind of boring & repetitive so it's super fun for me to add a scarf & hat to my look. It's amazing what these accessories can do to switch up the styling of my coat & also how much added warmth they provide.

There are so many scarf & hat styles out there, but my favorite pairing has to be beanies & blanket scarves. I got this beanie for Christmas last year & it is SO warm. I love the pom on top & of course, I'm obsessed with the color. I got this scarf this Christmas & again, it is SO warm & cozy & makes me feel like I'm wrapped up in a blanket every time I wear it. Is there anything better on a freezing day?
Style Tip: There are so many ways to style a blanket scarf. A few of my favorites:
1. Effortless: Fold scarf in half so it thins out width wise. Place around neck letting both ends hang free. (see last photo in this post for reference)
2. Infinity: Wrap scarf around your neck once. Tuck edges underneath so you can see the ends.
3. Cape: Leave scarf unfolded (or fold in half as a triangle) & wrap it around your shoulders like a cape/poncho.
4. Classic: Just like the infinity scarf, wrap scarf around your neck once. Leave ends hanging free. (see above photos for reference)
Coat: North Face | Scarf: Free People (also here) | Beanie: similar | Top: Vince | Jeans: c/o DL 1961 | Boots: Rag & Bone (exact boot)
I'm always looking to expand on my winter accessory collection, so let me know in the comments who makes your favorite scarves & hats for winter?

Michelle Paige

That scarf looks so soft and the color is amazing, but then again I love that color. Beanies are wonderful because they are in style yet make me feel like a kid again. I appreciate that you wore your regular, everyday coat because in reality we do have only a few coats, especially in the winter. Great post. Happy Monday.

Yes - I like to switch up my outerwear sometimes, but most of the time, I stick to this puffer coat in the winter
DeleteBlanket scarves are a necessity for me in winter - I wear my tartan one so much (well, when the cat's not sleeping on it!). The colour of yours is fabulous, and I love the beanie!

Love that dark gray coat with your berry colored scarf and hat. Such a pretty combination. It is fun to style different colored accessories with our neutral colored coats to mix it up a bit. Thanks for sharing. - Amy
