How are you all doing with your new year's resolutions?? My overall goal for the year is to be healthier! In January, I told myself I would find a workout class that I actually enjoyed going to! I accomplished my goal - I attended rowing classes & loved them! The only problem, the gym that had the rowing classes CLOSED down at the end of January :((( So I am back to square one & am looking to find a new workout routine that I can stick to! If you have a great workout class that you recommend, let me know! I'm thinking of trying barre.
My main goal for February is to eat healthier! I plan to cut out all sweets & try to choose healthier snacks all around - think more fruit, veggies & protein and less carbs! It's only the first day of the month, so we'll see how this goes!
I'm thinking my March goal will be drinking more water...after that, who knows! But you get the jist. I think smaller resolutions can sometimes be easier than one big one that you have to stick with for the entire year. Another helpful tip for sticking with the resolutions is being informed about how your body will react to changes you make - it can be daunting to change your exercise schedule or alter your diet, so I like to be as informed as possible before making a big change. A while back you may remember that I was able to learn more about my skin type using a HomeDNA kit. Turns out the brand has a bunch of kits available so for the start of the new year, I tried out the Healthy Weight Analysis.
It was so eye opening to learn about how much my genetics factored into my ability to react to diet & exercise changes. My results from HomeDNA showed me a detailed analysis of the various factors that influence my weight & my ability to gain and lose weight. It also gave me personalized workouts, meal plans & nutrition facts to help me achieve my healthiest self yet! I love how specific it was with the types of foods to eat & types of workouts to do! It is definitely something I continually look back on as I continue my journey to feel fit & strong.

You are so cute, Michelle! And good for you for naming your goals and making the effort. I got as far as naming my goals and it kind of halted there! My diet has been shit this year! And I need to change it quickly. But my husband is away for 3 weeks and I seriously have no desire to cook and so I just eat junk! Ugh. It's no excuse. I am going to follow your lead and get on it. Have a fabulous weekend!

It can be so hard to keep a resolution. I've fallen off a few times & it's still the beginning of the month!
DeleteWhat an interesting concept, Michelle!!
ReplyDeleteIt's always a struggle to eat healthy, but I think once it's a habit, it's easier!!

Yes - what's that saying? 40 days to break a habit? Hopefully it takes the same amount of time to gain a habit ;)
DeleteOh my gosh I just took this DNA test! The results are so enlightening - I'm excited for you to get yours! I also can't believe you love rowing - me and rowing have a love hate relationship. You look super fit so you're definitely doing it right!

It's super interesting & I learned a lot about myself.
DeleteJust like you this February I have promised myself to eat cleaner and healthier, a lot less bread, less coffee, more water, go to bed earlier - though my sleep is awful lately I must admit. I can say that I have already seen results and lost a few lbs. You look fantastic by the way and don't need to lose any weight. Thanks for being a part of the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome - great for you!! I'm not trying to lose weight, just be healthier and stronger in general!
