HIS & HERS: SUMMER DATE NIGHT STYLE
My birthday is tomorrow!!!
It's actually quite a busy weekend for a lot of reasons but let's just focus on my birthday celebrations for now ;). Because of all of our other weekend plans, J & I are planning to go out to dinner tonight with my family to celebrate me turning 27! I never tell Jody this, but I kind of love when we match our outfits ;). Just about anytime we plan to go out somewhere nice, I can count on him wearing one of his Mizzen + Main shirts (see his other M&M shirt here) so I try to wear something that coordinates with him. In this case, we both went the summery route with lightweight fabrics & tropical colors.
I've talked a lot about Mizzen + Main on my blog but really the clothes are THAT good for men. My sister's boyfriend, my dad & Jody all love the brand & can't get enough of their button downs. If you haven't read about Mizzen + Main before, all of their shirts are machine washable (perfect for the messy eater), moisture wicking (perfect for warm weather) & wrinkle resistant (perfect for any guy who is wearing a shirt for longer than a few minutes haha). BEST WAY TO FIND ITEMS ON SALE
Sharing another look that I wore out east this weekend. We usually just BBQ & cook food at the house but on Saturday night, we decided to go out to eat. I wore my trusty white jeans paired with my new off shoulder top & sandals that I found at the most AWESOME discount prices! I'll be honest, I love a good deal, but I'm not an expert deal finder like some of my friends are. That's why I was so happy to find Fashion Lane - a website that lays out the best fashion deals for clothing, shoes, jewelry and more!
My favorite way to use their site is by searching 'Today's Sale.' This will show you sale items from around 75 online stores. I check out price drops for the week, but you can also filter down to seeing deals within the last 48 hours; it just depends how often you stop by their site!
From there, I am able to check out sales for some of my favorite stores including ASOS, Rebecca Minkoff, Shopbop, Free People, Forever 21, Anthropologie...you get the picture! I love that Fashion Lane gives you all of the info you want to know at a glance. On the side bar, you can narrow down your price point, the type of piece you are looking for & the store or brand you want to shop. Then, I can see a photo of the items on sale along with the full price & the latest sale price. By hovering over the items I am interested, I can see the sizes that are still available & can set price drop alerts in case the price listed is still out of my budget. Once I find items I am interested in purchasing, I get taken directly to the store's website where I can place my order!
I was so excited to see some Rebecca Minkoff items listed on sale. RM is a brand I adore & I have a mini collection of bags from them (including this one!) but tend to find some of their clothing & shoes are a bit out of my price range. I was so excited to snag this adorable off the shoulder top & these nude sandals for under $100 combined! I also put some price alerts on a couple bags I have my eye on (this blush one & this beach tote)
One last thing to note:
The website is purely to help you find info. You still order from the brand/store website but Fashion Lane helps you to find coupons/deals & create sale alerts for items you have your eye on!

SUMMER DATE NIGHT LOOK
Sharing a summer date night look just in time for the weekend. I love jeans & a white tee as an off duty look (seen here), so some slight upgrades to my basics make them perfect for a night out. I'm obsessed with this off the shoulder top from Free People and have already worn it a bunch of times with jeans. In this look, I paired it with some colorful accessories; it looks just as great with neutrals (a black cross body & neutral wedges).
This half braided/ half bun hairstyle has been my go-to in the heat. It's only takes a few minutes to do & keeps my hair out of the way on hot days. Plus it shows off the neckline of this top perfectly :)

CLASSIC DATE NIGHT DRESS
Friday is not only one of my favorite days of the week because it means that the weekend has arrived, but it also usually means a date night for J & me. While I totally enjoy activity dates (mini golf, anyone?!) and trips to the movies, my favorite dates include the ones where we get dressed up and go out to eat. I love trying a new restaurant or visiting one of our regular favorite places on the weekends and this LBD from Tobi has been on repeat for date nights lately. It's so easy to just slip on, but looks amazing as soon as I do.
BE BRAVE IN YOUR BRA
Athleisure has exploded as completely main stream these days. It is seen in the gym as well as on the streets by celebrities and fashion gals alike, and I for one have been loving incorporating these sporty, comfortable pieces into my everyday wardrobe. Today I'm showing you all how a sports bra can be worn while working out & while going out! (It's easier than you think!)

A PRETTY PAIR
Last week left us with some of the hottest weather of the summer. When I was leaving for work in the morning, the temperature was already into the 80's, so you can imagine how hot it got in the middle of the day.

Let's be honest - everyday is pretty casual for me, but on Friday's, an ideal look is one that I can take straight from my office to a casual date night with J. I love the idea of adding fun flats & a colorful purse to an otherwise basic look. I am obsessed with this military inspired spring jacket that I stole from my sister's room! Hey, that's what siblings are for, right?

NUDE DRESS
I wore this dress to a 'Saturday night soiree' a couple of weekends ago. I had planned to wear a black dress to the party, but saw this dress in Zara, had a gift card & made it mine. It's the perfect party dress for a summer night in August & the nude color made me look super tan ;).
I kept the shoes & accessories really simple & nude colored as well for a classy & feminine monochromatic look.
