HORIZONTAL STRIPES & HINTS OF METALLICS
Is there any one out these who doesn't love stripes? Seriously, they are the best pattern around: coming in every color combo, mixing with other prints perfectly and looking flattering on everyone. Today I'm pairing my horizontal striped sweater with some fun metallic accessories for a little bit of glamour.
I decided to add a bit of masculinity and unexpectedness by pairing these pants & sweater with loafers instead of ballet flats or booties. J picked out these loafers for me years ago at the Coach outlet and I have never been able to part with them. I was lucky to find them in the back of my closet because loafers. are. back.
To tie the look together, I finished off this outfit with a pair of statement earrings. I rotate the same few dainty pieces of jewelry so it was fun to switch it up with these dangling earrings from Banana Republic. I always avoid buying oversize earrings because of how heavy they get and how they pull on my earlobes but these are backed with leather making them shockingly light weight and wearable for hours on end.

Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving filled with family & lots of good food!

PS. A sweater and pants with some metallic or sparkling accessories would make a great outfit for tomorrow's festivities.

HOW TO PAIR RED & GREEN
Merry Christmas week! I am so excited for a week of food, gifts & family! Apparently, a metallic skirt paired with green & hints of red is my go-to look for the holiday's this year (another instance seen here). To be honest, I am A-OK with it! I love, love, love this combo - it makes me feel like a dressed up, glamorous version of normally casual self!
A CASUAL MAXI
Last week I talked about how much I love rompers for the summer & today I am showing off another super easy summer piece: the maxi dress. I love how easy a maxi dress is to toss on & how versatile they can be for different occasions.
Fittingly, today's link up theme is MAXI DRESSES. Show us below how you style a maxi dress for summer.
TRENCHING AROUND
A while back, I wore this amazing trench as a dress (see it here); I have to say, as much as I loved it buttoned up, I adore the way it looks open as a vest. Such a fantastic layering piece!
Rather than pairing this sweater & vest with normal blue jeans, I decided to go with a pair of black leather-coated jeans. I wear them all the time in the colder months & think they elevate a casual look in the perfect way. Be prepared to see lots of outfits featuring my leather pants!

Hope you all had a fun weekend! I had a busy one.
On Friday night, my family & I went to a Yankee game! This officially marks the last summer that I will watch Derek Jeter as a Yankee. Whether you are a baseball fan or not, I don't think anyone would disagree when I say that the man is truly a legend.

On Saturday, we attended our first annual family reunion. I love getting together with this side of my family because I have a bunch of younger cousins that are so fun to play with & family members that I don't see often. It was great to see everyone & celebrate just being together. :)
What fun thing did you do this weekend?

utility jacket
Hope everyone had a great weekend! I love how versatile a LBD (little black dress) can be (see how I've styled mine in the past, here & here). For a chillier spring day, I belted a utility-style jacket over my dress & added gold accessories for a luxe yet casual look.

We had lots of family time this weekend celebrating my mother's birthday! Lots of people talk about how their Mom is their 'BFF,' but mine isn't, she's my mommy. She's there for me when I need advice, love or support. She still cooks me dinner & folds my laundry & takes me on shopping trips to the mall. She truly does it all for my family & me. My mom is so much more than any friend could ever be. Happy belated Mom!

This outfit is a look back of what I wore on Easter Sunday. After the age of 8, pastel dresses & white tights get a little old. But if you know me, you know I love any reason to dress up, so of course I used the holiday as an excuse. The weather was gorgeous so even though our family celebration is low key, I decided to create a spring time ensemble with the focus on this bright floral dress.

Happy April & Happy April Fool's Day! Did anyone get tricked today? My poker face isn't strong enough to pull off a good prank, but in case you need some ideas, I got a laugh out of this Buzzfeed article & totally believe there are some adults out there who would fall for these tricks.

PS. I am obsessed with my new Coach loafers that I found at the outlet store recently. They are so polished & shiny; they are sure to be a wardrobe staple this spring!
