I got this dress a couple of weeks ago & I'm obsessed. It's already turned into the piece I wear when running errands, lounging around the house on a hot date & dressed up for date night! I adore the midi length, lightweight fabric & cute cutout.

GRAY MONOCHROME LOOK

Another week, another Stitch Fix keeper! I have been loving using Stitch Fix this season for adding a couple of new pieces to my fall wardrobe! This ColourWorks Skippy Embroidery Detail Sweater (ask your stylist for this sweater by name if you want it in your next fix!) is so cute with it's rose sleeve details. It paired perfectly with my gray jeans (told ya these would be back for a monochrome outfit & here it is!). My SJP Collection pumps, which I never get tired of wearing, added the perfect, finishing touch, pop of red to this look!

NON BORING ALL BLACK OUTFIT

What do you wear when you don't know what to wear? For me, I always end up in black. It's easy, it's chic & it always looks good. I woke up one morning this week and just couldn't find the perfect outfit for the day, so naturally I ended up in this one & it actually turned out to be one of my favorite looks as of lately. I felt like a bad ass wearing it.

Wearing all black (or really any monochrome outfit) can look so chic but I do think there is a trick to making it look effortless and flattering. For me, it's all about texture! I paired a fuzzy sweater with a chiffon top, leather pants, suede boots & a leather belt (shop all pieces below!). No two fabrics were the same which sounds like a lot, but in the same color, it very subtly allows each piece to stand out.

3 WAYS TO STYLE SERENITY & ROSE QUARTZ

When the official Pantone colorS for 2016 were announced, I was a bit unsure. Marsala the year prior was such a win & I wore it nonstop. Was I really going to do the same with Rose Quartz & Serenity shades? Turns out I like these colors more than I thought. NYFW has come & gone once again & while I opted out of many of the events this time around (Valentine's Day & staying in bed during 2 degree weather > NYFW shows..sorry!), I did have the chance to attend a few fun events during the last week. One being the Thrive Luncheon that I mentioned earlier this week. Today I am sharing my outfit details from that day!

UNBASIC BLACK

There is just something about the color black that makes me feel confident every time I put it on. I think it is so flattering, so simple and can look so effortless. I love adding texture to any monochrome look that I wear (see examples here & here), but I think it is especially important for an all black look because layered pieces can get lost in the dark color.

LOVE YOUR APPEARANCE

As soon as I came across the website, LURAP, I knew it was going to turn into one of my favorite places to shop. First off, the website is an acronym for L-ove UR AP-pearance. What better message is there than that??! Secondly, they customize their sizing, styles & fabric(!) so that you get a perfect piece for you every time.

I am LOVING this dress that was custom made just for me. The midi style and navy blue color are perfect for transitioning to cooler weather. Plus, the robe-like style of the dress was new for me and was fun to wear without being overly revealing.

A few weeks ago, I talked about back to school basics that I always found to be essentials while I was in college. Today, we are moving forward to the present and are talking about some quick and easy looks for the working girl. My office is casual, but it's still important to me to look put together.

MERLOT

There's something about a monochrome look that I absolutely love! No matter what color or fabrics you choose, the look is always streamlined & has a certain sophistication.

Deep shades of red, like burgundy & wine, are one my go-to shades each fall/winter season. The rich jewel color looks flattering on all skin tones & the color can be paired with pieces to fit anyone's personal style.
