EVERYTHING UNDER $50


Would you believe me if I told you every single piece in this outfit is under $50? It's true! I always have loved finding budget pieces that look like a million bucks & I think I always will. Who doesn't love an awesome deal?


I actually came across both this romper & these sandals on Instagram! Gotta love social media for shopping research! I saw a close up of these sandals first & knew I had to have them for summer. What's not to love about them? The colors, the tassels & the PRICE are all amazing!  There is a lot going on in these sandals but don't let that discourage you - they are SO comfortable & super lightweight.

Then I saw this yellow romper & I knew I had to have it. I decided to wear this romper for my birthday on Saturday & got so many compliments; the band even teased me by singing 'Itsy, bitsy, teeny, weeny, yellow, polka dot....romper' before singing 'Happy Birthday' LOL. Yellow is my favorite color & what better way to ring in my birthday than with a romper in my favorite color??  It was perfect!

This saddle bag from Sole Society is another recent purchase & also happens to be under $50. It was a little larger than I had thought but cute nonetheless & fit a ton of stuff! I love the simple shape & minimal detailing. I picture it being the perfect cross body for the fall!

HIS & HERS: SUMMER DATE NIGHT STYLE


My birthday is tomorrow!!!

 It's actually quite a busy weekend for a lot of reasons but let's just focus on my birthday celebrations for now ;). Because of all of our other weekend plans, J & I are planning to go out to dinner tonight with my family to celebrate me turning 27! I never tell Jody this, but I kind of love when we match our outfits ;). Just about anytime we plan to go out somewhere nice, I can count on him wearing one of his Mizzen + Main shirts (see his other M&M shirt here) so I try to wear something that coordinates with him. In this case, we both went the summery route with lightweight fabrics & tropical colors.




I've talked a lot about Mizzen + Main on my blog but really the clothes are THAT good for men. My sister's boyfriend, my dad & Jody all love the brand & can't get enough of their button downs. SHOP: EARLY ACCESS TO NORDSTROM SALE



Early access to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale starts today! Let's talk about this sale for a minute, although if you read or follow any other blogs, I'm sure you are tired of hearing about it & just ready to SHOP! 

 The thing that makes this sale so fantastic is that Nordstrom allows shoppers to buy BRAND NEW arrivals at SALE prices for a limited time. That means you can shop a bunch of new items for end of summer & fall at a discount now, if you wait, prices will go up. I love using this sale to stock up on items that I know I won't be able to live without come fall. Think sweaters, booties, maybe a new bag ;)

 As mentioned above, early access starts today. That means, Nordstrom card holders can get exclusive access to the sale starting RIGHT NOW & lasting until July 20. If you don't have a Nordstrom card, you can sign up here (I think it's totally worth it if you are a regular Nordstrom shopper) or hang tight until July 21 when public access begins. TWO WAYS TO WEAR: WHITE TOPS & DENIM


I'm super excited about today's post because my sister, Sarah is making a special guest appearance! We are lucky enough to be the same size in clothing and often share pieces but very rarely do we style a piece the same way. I took two of my favorite staples: a white top & denim and challenged her to put together an outfit that fits her personal style while I did the same. When we walked out of our bedrooms, I was not surprised to see that while we were wearing similar items, the finished outfits looked completely different!

Let's talk outfit similarities first: I love that neither of our white tops are too basic. Both have elements that make them trendy and fun! Sarah's cut out, wrap tank is super cool and I love the criss cross & choker details on the front. As soon as I saw the ruffle on this cut out shoulder top, I knew I wanted to take this top in a girly direction. The buttons up the back are a fun added touch. Now onto the differences: the denim is what made the biggest difference in these looks. Sarah's distressed jeans give a laid back, casual vibe while my denim skirt is more fitted & girly.  Our accessories totally mirror these vibes - I love Sarah's lace up espadrilles & round sunglasses while my bow mules & pink bag complete my girly outfit. COVERUPS FOR THE BEACH & BEYOND



On summer weekends, I'm usually spending my day at the beach. This Saturday, J had a beach volleyball tournament so we spent the entire day under the sun. Right after, I had a quick nail appt and then we had plans to grab a casual dinner. For me, having a cover up that works beyond the beach is so important. I need something that looks cute while walking on the boardwalk and then can be worn into the nail salon. I always turn to a cute romper as a cover up when I know I have plans to do other things. 



For this look post-beach, I swapped my beach tote to a more structured bag from Zara & added my favorite denim jacket so the look was more street and less beachy. My slide sandals & sunglasses worked for both the beach & my post-beach errands.
